The centennial opportunities Delhi University (DU) gave its former students to retake the exams they had not yet passed were not a matter of "right," according to the Delhi High Court. According to the high court, the varsity's choices about whether to offer a centennial chance and the conditions under which it would be granted are under the purview of academic policy. The centennial opportunities were not an issue of justice. Candidates who did not pass all of the course's papers within the allotted time frame were not entitled to request another opportunity to pass the papers, and the DU was under no duty to grant such a chance.
